The mission of the MSMF Institute is to equip future decision-makers—students—with a deep understanding of the interconnectedness, diversity, and complexities of the global financial system. By leveraging real-time data, analytical tools, and thoughtful research, the Institute aims to foster informed decision-making that promotes financial literacy, sustainability, and responsible economic stewardship.
Drawing on the collective expertise of students, faculty mentors, and partnerships with industry professionals, the MSMF Institute develops original research on financial markets, economic trends, Sustainable finance and relevant policy issues. The Institute also serves as a platform for framing critical financial challenges, facilitating discussions, and engaging stakeholders across academia and industry.
The MSMF Institute seeks a Research Analyst who will contribute to original research on financial markets using an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset and a passion for fostering financial education are essential for success in this role
Job Responsibilities
Draft and edit papers, slide decks, and blog posts for internal and external audiences
Work alongside the institute’s internal research team, , using Institute data alone or in combination with existing publicly-available data.
Identify promising potential topics for the Institute’s research agenda
Publication of fortnightly commentary on industry specific trend/personal research ideas (subject to approval)
Candidate Qualifications
Strong background in econometrics/statistics
Demonstrated strong understanding of financial markets, services and business issues and sustainability is a plus.
Strong writing and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a high-performance professional environment.
Candidates must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Business, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in finance, economics, and statistics, as well as a keen understanding of financial markets and current economic trends.

Conduct cutting-edge analyses using Institute data that add to both the industry and academic environment; develop insights and implications from the analyses in conjunction with faculty advisors, and Industry partners.
Contribute to efforts to strengthen the Institute as an organization, including developing and refining protocols and workflows.
Design, Develop and Publish research insights/ outlooks/ commentary and industry guides
Be able meet publication KPIs and deliverable timeline
Candidate Qualifications
Strong background in econometrics/statistics
Experience programming in R, Python, Matlab and/or SQL.
Demonstrated strong understanding of financial markets, services and business issues and sustainability is a plus.
Strong writing and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a high-performance professional environment.
Candidates must be currently pursuing a Masters in Economics, Commerce, Business, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science or have relevant experience .

The General Manager (GM) of the MSMF Institute will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, research initiatives, and delivery of research papers for the organization. This position entails managing & facilitating collaboration with Research Assistants & Associates and ensuring the alignment of the Institute's activities with its mission to provide data-driven financial insights. The GM will serve as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth coordination between students.

Communicate/delivery of the goals and vision from the Head of Institute to the Research Associates & Assistants
Lead and manage all aspects of the MSMF Institute's daily operations, including research activities, project timelines, and team coordinationOversee and guide the Institute’s research agenda, ensuring alignment with emerging trends in financial markets, sustainability, and economic policy.
Support the Research Associates in developing high-quality, data-driven research outputs (commentary, research reports).
Ensure rigorous data analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting techniques are used in all research projects.
Candidate Qualifications
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in managing cross-functional teams
Currently studying in the same discipline related to MSMF (commerce, economics, finance, statistics, etc)- social science & philosophy experience preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
Attentions to details and ability to meet work/ Performs the set work in a timely manner
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, able to manage multiple projects and timelines concurrently.
Interest in financial research/studies a bonus
