Job Summary:
As a Research Associate within the Monash Student Managed Fund (MSMF), you will conduct financial and economic research to support investment decision-making and portfolio management. Under the guidance of Institute Managers, you will analyse market trends, evaluate investment opportunities, and contribute to the development of research reports and insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
Conduct in-depth financial and economic research to support investment decisions.
Analyze market trends, company financials, and macroeconomic data to identify investment opportunities.
Utilize financial modeling and valuation techniques to assess potential investments.
Data Management and Interpretation:
Work with large datasets to extract meaningful insights and produce actionable recommendations.
Use programming languages and tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Excel) to analyze data and create visualizations.
Apply statistical and econometric methods to interpret data and support research findings.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with fellow researchers, portfolio managers, and other team members to develop cutting-edge analyses.
Present research findings and investment recommendations to the MSMF team and stakeholders.
Contribute to the creation of research reports, presentations, and other materials.
Continuous Learning and Development:
Gain and apply knowledge in areas such as equity research, fixed income, portfolio management, and financial markets.
Stay updated on global economic trends, financial news, and industry developments.
Compliance and Ethics:
Adhere to ethical standards and compliance requirements in all research activities.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of research outputs.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD.
Strong academic record with a demonstrated interest in financial markets and investment research.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Excel).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Summary:
The General Manager (GM) of the Monash Student Managed Fund (MSMF) is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, strategy, and performance of the fund. This leadership role involves managing a team of student researchers, analysts, and portfolio managers, ensuring the fund achieves its investment objectives, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. The GM will play a pivotal role in driving the fund’s success while fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the fund’s strategic vision and goals in alignment with its mission.
Oversee the fund’s investment strategy and ensure it aligns with risk management guidelines.
Monitor market trends and economic developments to guide decision-making.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of student researchers, analysts, and portfolio managers.
Delegate tasks, set priorities, and ensure the team meets deadlines and objectives.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Operational Oversight:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the fund, including research, portfolio management, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with fund policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Manage relationships with faculty advisors, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring:
Track the fund’s performance against benchmarks and objectives.
Prepare and present performance reports to the board, faculty advisors, and stakeholders.
Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Represent the fund at university events, industry conferences, and networking sessions.

Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Job Summary:
The Executive Assistant (EA) for the Monash Student Managed Fund (MSMF) provides high-level administrative and organizational support to the General Manager and faculty advisors. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of the fund by managing schedules, coordinating meetings, handling communications, and assisting with project management. The EA will play a key role in supporting the leadership team and contributing to the overall success of the MSMF.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
Manage the General Manager’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and events.
Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions for team meetings and board discussions.
Organize and maintain files, records, and documentation for the fund.
Communication Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications.
Draft and proofread emails, reports, presentations, and other materials.
Coordinate communication between the General Manager, faculty advisors, team members, and external stakeholders.
Event and Meeting Coordination:
Plan and coordinate fund-related events, such as workshops, networking sessions, and guest lectures.
Arrange logistics for meetings, including venue booking, catering, and technology setup.
Assist in organizing travel arrangements for team members or guest speakers, if required.
Project Assistance:
Support the General Manager in tracking project timelines, deliverables, and deadlines.
Assist with research, data collection, and preparation of reports or presentations.
Help maintain the fund’s social media presence and update its website, if applicable.
Team Support:
Facilitate onboarding for new team members and ensure they have access to necessary resources.
Act as a liaison between the General Manager and the MSMF team to ensure smooth workflow.
Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in an administrative or assistant role, preferably in a student organization or professional setting.
Familiarity with financial or investment-related terminology.
Experience with event planning or project management.
Basic knowledge of social media management and website updates.
