Leadership Team

  • Head of Institute

    Jack oversees the strategic planning and execution of the institute with most of time spent on; research report planning, stakeholder management, legal affairs (contract signing), expansion/partnerships, quality control and target setting

  • General Manager (AU)

    Jing assists the Head of Institute in staff management, interviews for research assistant and associates and ensuring publication deadlines are met

  • General Manager (AU)

    Sejal joins as the second GM for Australia and assists the Institute with weekly staff check-ins & IT related topics.

  • General Manager (MY)

    Henry joins as an international manager with a background as President of MUIG. On top of all GM duties, he will also facilitate and ensure MSMF Institute’s offerings are fully available to Monash Malaysia Campus Students

  • Senior Research Fellow

    Nga Pham is a senior research fellow at the Monash Centre for Financial Studies (MCFS). She works on issues related to pensions, corporate governance, ESG and shareholder activism. Nga is a member of the Advisory Board of the Mercer CFA Institute Global Pension Index.

    Nga is currently also a co-chair of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) Financial Capital Committee. Before that, she was a member of the Disclosure and Transparency Committee of ICGN.

    Before joining Monash University, Nga was a consultant at the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, working for the Vietnam Corporate Governance Project. Her work involved raising awareness, regulatory advocacy, capacity building and firm advisory activities in corporate governance for companies in Vietnam. She had also worked in equity research at Vietnam Asset Management and Bien Viet Securities (now Woori CBV Securities).

    Nga was also an academic at Hanoi University in Vietnam for more than 15 years. She had assumed various leadership roles, including the Executive Director of La Trobe – HANU joint programs, Vice Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Management and Tourism. In addition, she taught the MBA and Master of International Business programs at La Trobe University in various areas of finance including corporate governance, investment and portfolio management, corporate finance and international finance.

    Nga has a BCom from the University of Melbourne, and an MBA and PhD degrees from La Trobe University. She received the Ausaid scholarship and the Australian Leadership Award from the Australian Government.

    Nga is a CFA charterholder and an active volunteer and member of the CFA Society Melbourne.


  • Lecturer

    Ali is an empirical finance researcher with teaching expertise in risk management, modelling, and fintech. He analyses real-world financial data to uncover trends and causalities and prepares students for the evolving financial landscape. Currently a lecturer at the Department of Banking and Finance, Ali continuously contributes to shaping the future of finance education and research.

  • Director of Finance and Lending

    I have been extremely fortunate in my career to have worked in roles that I truly enjoy.

    My area of expertise is Commercial Lending and Sales Leadership. I enjoy structuring lending proposals and advocating on behalf of clients. Every client deserves the opportunity to be presented in the best possible light when preparing lending submissions to prospective financiers.

    I have MC'd bank events with over 250 attendees and also presented various strategy projects at GM and EGM level.

    I am passionate about People and Culture and believe that this is a critical ingredient to success in any organisation. Having deep conversations with people is the best way to build strong relationships and truly understand the person. Applying this mindset in business dealings is equally important in order to really understand our clients and provide the most appropriate solutions.

    Currently I have the absolute privilege of leading the Ashfords Finance & Lending business.
