Our Focus on Global Challenges

Through our publications MSMF Institute aligns with Monash’s focus on addressing global challenges through its completion of research topics and publications that provide solutions and/or recommendations to:


1. Climate Change: Research in renewable energy, carbon-neutral companies, and green technologies to combat the effects of climate change.


2. Geopolitical Security: Focus on industries involved in cybersecurity, resilient supply chains, and companies ensuring geopolitical stability.


3. Thriving Communities: Invest in companies that promote equality, provide sustainable housing, and improve social infrastructure.

Diversity and Inclusion in Research

The MSMF Institute is dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the financial sector by supporting leadership from marginalized groups and prioritizing gender equity thorugh our alignement with Monash’s strategic priorities. Our research emphasizes empowering Indigenous peoples and promoting their leadership in key industries. By highlighting inclusive business practices, we aim to influence the financial industry to adopt equitable opportunities for all.


1. Internal Diverse Leadership: Supporting marginalised individuals, with a focus on gender equity and underrepresented groups, to foster diverse leadership within our teams and set an example for the financial sector.

2. Focus on Indigenous Representation: Prioritising research on businesses that empower Indigenous peoples and promote their leadership, crucial for sustainable, equitable economic growth.

MSMF Institute will align with Monash’s strategic priority of sustainability by incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria and considerations in our research publications:

MSMF aligns with and encourages global collaboration by:

1. International Partnerships: Build relationships with other student-managed funds or educational institutions / student academic focused clubs across borders such as in other Monash University campuses.

2. Cross-Cultural Competence: Ensure members develop global financial skills through exposure to different markets and investment climates.

3. Collaborative Projects: Engage in joint research and project development with international universities, NGOs, public and private sector companies to solve global financial challenges alongside passionate students.
